Little Sprouts Garden Program
Little Sprouts Garden Program
We are excited to introduce our new Little Sprouts Garden Program this school year! Our school garden has been thriving, and the children are already enjoying the results of their hard work. We have grown delicious tomatoes, are beginning to grow strawberries, and look forward to expanding our edible garden throughout the year. Recently, the children had the opportunity to taste tomatoes grown right here at school during snack time—and they were a big hit! Our goal is to grow foods that children can help plant, care for, harvest, and eventually enjoy as part of our school snacks. We will also grow safe fruits, vegetables, and greens to help feed our school animals.
Donations of safe fruits, vegetables, and greens for our school animals are also greatly appreciated. If you are an experienced gardener and would like to share your knowledge, time, or gardening talents with the children, we would love to welcome you for a visit. We will soon post a seasonal planting chart and helpful donation ideas. We are so excited to provide children with this meaningful opportunity to connect with nature, discover where food comes from, and experience the joy and pride of growing something with their own hands.
